The elves
learned the art of building with living weavewood. Many of the smaller
cities are made of the living vines that weave together into water tight
walls and ceilings. Though the elves invented the art and use it to great
effect, the mages of Alexander have certainly perfected it. Large sections
of Alexander are made of the cheap building materials. The elves learned
of the drain that the trees have on the soil and so tend to use weavewood
only in small towns where it doesn't cause the barren effects that it
can when used to excess. Not only did the mages of Alexander use it to
excess, they developed entirely new varieties of it that grow larger.
