The Minschon, or land piranha, is a ravenous pest most often guarding a treasure, although they sometimes go out in seek of food. Even a small group can wipe out a party. They are very fast and can leap up to 6' in the air, covering up to 10' horizontally.

Their scaly exterior is made up of small plate-like scales that are difficult to penetrate. They jump around like things posessed, homing in on some fleshy area to gnaw on. They attack as 2 hit die creatures and will attack until they or their target are dead. They can shred a carcase in a minute, and will chew their victim to a bloody mess, saving most to be eaten later. They prefer dark, dry places to hide, and prefer to surprise their prey.

They have two front claws that they rend with, and bite as well. If a chest attack can be made, they prefer this, going for vital organs, bur- rowing into their victims if possible. Their sting requires a save vs. petrification or the victim is immobile for 1-6 meele rounds. They are very quick (12"), partially accounting for their tough armor class. They ae seldom encountered in the wild, and usually are kept for the express purpose of guarding treasure. They are easily bred in captivity if one has the patience to deal with their nasty behavior.

Minschions are reptiles, and when not in combat move very slowly and have very low metabolisms. Once a victim is eaten, they can go up to two months without eating, ideal for guarding treasures that are to be undisturbed for long periods of time.
